I created AnnieBanannie’s about four years ago as a creative outlet for my mixed media, digital, and photographic artwork and textile work.
Why AnnieBanannie’s??? Okay, well it’s kind of a long story…but here goes: My first name is Kimberly….when I was a kid everyone called me “Kymmie” – I was okay with that…but as time went by, the “Kimberly” name started coming up….and quite frankly, I couldn’t stand that name – it was completely unoriginal and the year that I was born…everyone named their kid that…it was a nightmare at school!!!! I was Kymmie lost in a sea of generic Kimberly’s. So being the eclectic-sorta-kinda person that I am…I decided to go by my middle name…well actually a version of my middle name (Ann) – “Annie” – hence AnnieBanannie’s…it’s taken me years of shock therapy…but I am okay with the “Kimberly” name…but Kymmie works better…I still have issues.
I utilize a variety of mixed media applications on a wide variety of substrates which become my canvases – including clothing, glass, and other materials. I also produce museum quality Giclee prints and originally signed limited reproductions of my artwork and photography printed on museum parchment and fine art papers using archival inks.
Here’s all of my credentialing kinda stuff: I hold a BA in Visual Art from Thomas Edison State College and certifications in both Graphic Design and Web/Multimedia Design from San Bernardino Valley College. I also hold an Associate Degree in Business Technology from Chaffey College and another in Liberal Studies from San Bernardino Valley College.
